Dre Murray was born and raised in the South Park development in Houston, Texas, but moved to Oklahoma City in 2000 for school reasons. Murray's adopted home had a healthy Christian Hip Hop scene that fostered his artistic growth. The inspiration that surrounded him meant he would he soon put his own pen to paper and start his own rhyme writing journey. 

In 2003, he released his debut album, Project Ghetto and followed up in 2008 with Manumit. Fast forward a few years and in 2010 and 2011, he dropped the Hell's Paradise series with his friend, Wit.

Dre is powered by the spirit of community and contiued to collabrate with his Rap brethren. Along with Christon Gray, Alex Faith, and Swoope, Murray formed W.L.A.K. The group released a self-titled album in March 2013, and it was a crossover success, peaking at number one on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart while hitting #7 on Top Rap Albums and #81 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. Four months later, Murray released Gold Rush: Maybe One Day for the Collision label. It peaked at number six on the Billboard Gospel chart.

Murray signed to Illect Recordings in 2015 and brings with him a wealth of professional and artistic experience. Considering his track record of excellence, his upcoming full length project is sure to make an impact.
